Autumn's Most Beloved Squash

Butternut Squash is the quintessential autumn vegetable — a long-keeping, deeply flavourful winter squash with sweet, nutty, orange flesh that's as comforting as a warm kitchen on a cool October evening. Roast it, soup it, or stuff it — butternut squash is endlessly versatile and utterly satisfying.

Why You'll Love It

  • Rich, sweet, nutty flavour — one of the most delicious vegetables you can grow
  • Excellent storage — keeps for months in a cool, dry place
  • Generous yields of large, tan-skinned fruits with vibrant orange flesh
  • Packed with vitamins A and C, potassium, and fibre

Growing Tips

Plant in full sun after the last frost in rich, deeply dug soil. Butternut squash needs space — vines can spread 2–3 metres. Water deeply and consistently, especially during fruit development. Harvest in late summer to early autumn when the skin is hard and tan-coloured. Cure in a warm, dry spot for 10 days before storing.

Sold as a starter plant, ready to transplant into your garden.
